Topstep Named to Crain’s 2021 Best Places to Work in Chicago Finalists

Chicago, IL –

March 11, 2021– Topstep has been named one of Crain’s 2021 Best Places to Work in Chicago once again (full list available here) (paywall)).

Alongside Best Companies Group, Crain’s surveyed thousands of team members on the types of working conditions, benefits and corporate culture that make a company a great place to work. The awards program is intended to identify, recognize and honor the 100 best companies to work for in the Chicago area. The Best Places to Work in Chicago final ranked list will be released by April 12.

“We’re honored to be selected as one of Crain’s Best Places to Work in Chicago for the fourth year in a row,” says Jay Rudman, Topstep’s CEO. “I know how hard we’ve worked to make Topstep a special place, so to be recognized by Crain’s, especially given the topsy-turvy COVID world we have all been living through, makes all that effort worth it.”

Winners for this award were determined by a weighted survey of employees and employers conducted by Crain’s in partnership with Best Companies Group. To be considered for participation, companies had to:

  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business, or government entity
  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Have an office in the Chicago area
  • Have at least 25 full-time or part-time employees in Chicago
  • Have been in business a minimum of 365 days

Determining the Best Places to Work in Chicago included a two-step process. The first step consisted of evaluating each company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics. This piece made up approximately 25% of the total score. The second piece consisted of employee surveys aimed at assessing individual employees’ experiences and attitudes regarding their workplace. This portion was worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. These two scores combined determined the best companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group handled the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data, and used its expertise to decide its final ranking.

Topstep will be honored at the 2021 Best Places to Work in Chicago awards virtual event on April 9. Event details can be found here.
