Regardless of what fate throws at us, there’s still one certainty in this topsy-turvy world — Topstep Market Mania. Twelve perennial powerhouses are back, plus four new faces including Bitcoin, German Bunds, and the scrappy Russell Index.
Over the next two weeks, these futures products will compete in a 4-round bracket-style challenge similar to an annual college basketball tournament that our lawyers suggest we don’t mention by name.
So fill out your brackets carefully, because there’s more on the line than merely the satisfaction of a job well done. Will the ES repeat as champion? Will a crypto-cinderella emerge? Does anyone care about Corn futures?
Welcome to Topstep Market Mania.
We’ve created a bracket of 16 products divided into 4 trading-themed regions. It looks something like this:
In each round, two products will “play” each other with the winner being determined by the highest percentage change in price on the specified date. We will measure this percentage move by comparing the previous settlement, to the closing settlement for that day.
Each “round” will be played on a specific date. For instance, the Round of 16 will be played on Tuesday, March 23, and feature 8 games between 16 products.
Looking at the “Commodarita-ville” region, if you believe that Crude Oil futures will rise more (or lose less) by percentage that day compared to Gold, then you would pick the CL to move on to the Round of 8 (just like basketball).
The dates of each round and the number of points awarded for each correct pick are as follows:
If for some reason we get a crazy number of ties, we’ll randomly draw the names of the winners live on YouTube. This is important because we have some nifty prizes for the winners.
The Grand Prize winner will receive a free first-month subscription in a $150K Trading Combine. Plus a $150 gift code to the Topstep apparel store.
Two First Prize winners will each get a free first-month subscription in a $100K Trading Combine. Plus a $100 gift code to the Topstep apparel store.
Three Second Prize winners will get a free first-month subscription in a $50K Trading Combine. Plus a $50 gift code to the Topstep apparel store.
Four Third Prize winners will get a free first-month subscription in a $30K Trading Combine. Plus a $50 gift code to the Topstep apparel store.
